Elk of the Year honored

Tom Hartin was recently honored as Elk of the Year for 200506 by the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge No. 2477. Hartin has been active in the

Conejo Valley Days Site Crew for more than 25 years. He served as the festival general chairman in 1996 and this year he's the Elks' candidate for grand marshal.

Hartin recently retired from the city of Thousand Oaks following 28 years of service. He and his wife, Lori, have two daughters, Heather, 24, and Krista, 22.
