Conejo Valley YMCA to offer spring break camps
Signups are underway for grades K-8

Signups are currently underway for the Conejo Valley YMCA's holiday spring day camp for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. The camp will be held Monday through Friday, April 10 to 14, to coincide with spring break for children in the Conejo Valley and Moorpark school districts, according to Kelly Dulek, program director for the Conejo Valley YMCA.

Camp will be held at Mountain Meadows Elementary School, 4200 Mountain Meadows Drive, Moorpark. A shuttle service for Thousand Oaks residents will be available at the Conejo Valley YMCA, 4031 N. Moorpark Road. The shuttle will pick up children at 8:30 a.m. and return them by 4:30 p.m.

The camp week will be filled with a variety of age-appropriate activities. On Monday, campers will participate in holiday egg decorating, spring crafts and outdoor games. On Tuesday, campers will visit Chuck E. Cheese. Campers will spend Wednesday at the Conejo Valley YMCA where they can participate in swimming, hiking, archery and rock wall climbing. Thursday offers a field trip to Harley's Bowl. The week finishes off with a barbecue at Mountain Meadows Park.

Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free extended childcare from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at both Mountain Meadows and at the Conejo Valley YMCA. The cost per camper for the full week is $165.

"Our camp is a safe, licensed child care facility," said Dulek. "The camp is the perfect experience for kids who enjoy physical activity as well as crafts, group games, songs, science and nature projects.'"
