Rock ‘n’ roll concert coming soon to Civic Arts Plaza

Tickets are currently on sale for “Rock the Oaks 6,” the sixth annual concert featuring local bands, sponsored by the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza Foundation and presented by the Thousand Oaks Youth Commission.

The concert is slated for 7:30 p.m. Fri., Feb. 24 in the Scherr Forum Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd.

The Thousand Oaks Youth Commission has selected four local bands to perform:Sky Walker, Fermata, The Bassix and Cicada.

Sky Walker, a five-piece alternative rock band with an edge, performs at venues in Ventura and Los Angeles counties and has a debut album available in selected stores.

The high energy alternative hard rock band Fermata has become part of the Southern California music scene, playing at the Whiskey, Roxy and other venues.

The Bassix has played classic rock to modern tunes at various festivals.

The four-piece band Cicada offers a sound that is a combination of classic rock, grunge and punk.
