Learn more about Alzheimer’s

Sherril Bover, education coordinator for the Alzheimer’s Association California Central Coast, will discuss “The ABC’s of Alzheimer’s” at 10:30 a.m. Sat., Feb. 25 in the community meeting room at the Newbury Park Branch Library, 2331 Borchard Road, Newbury Park. Her presentation is sponsored by the American Association of University Women’s Thousand Oaks branch and is open to branch members and the general public.

Admission is free, but reservations are required and may be made by calling Shirley Morris at (805) 495-9669.

Bover will present stories and information on the disease. She was caregiver to her mother, who recently died from Alzheimer’s disease. Bover is a support group facilitator, workshop and seminar leader, as well as co-author and presenter of “The Alzheimer’s Dialogues.”

The Alzheimer’s Association offers programs, events, outreach and other services to guide and support families whose lives have been touched by the challenges of Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia-related illnesses.

The event will start at 10 a.m. with a social time, beverages and snacks, followed by a welcome message from Andrea Wharton, branch president, at 10:15 a.m.
