Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge No. 2477 invites high school seniors to apply for the Most Valuable Student Scholarship contest sponsored by the Elks National Foundation.

The lodge has distributed applications to career counselors at high schools in Thousand

Oaks, Newbury Park and Agoura Hills. The applications are also available at www.elks.org.

Applicants are judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need. The deadline to submit is 9 p.m., Jan 12. Applications should be sent

to the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge No. 2477, P.O. Box 2110, Thousand Oaks, CA 91358.

Local scholarship winners will be announced in February and awarded the scholarships at a dinner at the lodge in March.
