Kwanzaa to be celebrated A Kwanzaa celebration will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Dec. 2 in the Preus-Brandt Forum at California Lutheran University. Admission is free and the public is invited. Kwanzaa is an AfricanAmerican holiday that honors family, community and culture. The traditional Kwanzaa began in Africa to celebrate the first fruits of the season. The one-day celebration at CLU will include dancers, gospel music, vendors with arts and crafts and African food. The event is sponsored by CLU Multicultural Programs, the CLU Black Student Union, the Afro-Centric Committee of Ventura County and the NAACP Saturday School.
