Sales last weekend at The Oaks mall in T.O. were particularly strong in jewelry, children's apparel, women's specialty apparel, health and beauty, and electronics.

Popular items included: •Children's clothing: Anything leopard, pink or purple is hot for good little girls, while boys enjoy camouflage or sportsrelated attire.•Electronics: Whether it's plasma or LCD, TVs are hot, as are iPods, MP3 players and the rarely available PlayStation 3. Cellphones and digital cameras are also popular goodies. •Health and beauty items: Gift cards, gift sets,

body butters, new fragrances and cosmetics in general are popular again this season. •Jewelry: Diamonds are again women's best friends this year. Diamond circle pendants, diamond tennis bracelets and diamond earrings are consistent favorites. •Junior apparel: Kids can't seem to get enough hooded sweatshirts, according to retailers. Jeans of any kind, denim and other jackets, puffy vests, leggings, and purses and wallets are hot. Lime green seems to be a popular color. •Home furnishings: Holiday trim, including Thanksgiving sale items are going fast, as are home-fragrance products. Other popular items are shadow box frames, scented candles, dinnerware and flatware. •Men's apparel: Sweaters, coats and corduroy pants are top sellers for men. And the boys, old and young, always enjoy gadgets (iPods, massage chairs, electric razors, etc.). •Women's apparel : Sweaters are especially popular. Skirts, dresses, quilted vests, turtlenecks and oversized handbags are also going home in shopping bags. •Disney's "Princess" products and accessories for girls are popular. "Happy Feet" penguins are selling fast, as are remote-control vehicles. DVDs such as "XMen" and "Over the Hedge" are especially hot.
