Foundation needs new toys, clothing and wrapping paper

2006-11-30 / Community

Donations of new toys, clothing and Christmas wrapping paper are needed for the third annual Community Christmas Shoppes.

The Action Foundation, a Ventura faithbased nonprofit organization, has collaborated with 30 churches and local service organizations countywide to organize the event, which gives low-income parents a chance to shop for new toys and clothing at low cost, according to Rob Orth, director of the Action Foundation.

Churches and business groups are gathering the donated items in 100 specially marked toy boxes across the county.

A financial tax-deductible donation can be made by sending funds to the Action Foundation, 1956 Palma Drive, Ste. A, Ventura, CA 93003. Money collected will be used to supplement any shortages of toys or clothing for the events.

For more information, call Orth at (805) 371-3691. The foundation's website is www.actionvc.org.
