Nativity display will support homeless shelter programs

More than 500 nativity scenes will be displayed through the weekend of Dec. 1 through 3 at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 155 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.

The grand opening gala will be 6 to 9 p.m. Fri., Dec. 1 in the church hall. Hors d'oeuvres and dessert will be served. Live entertainment will include the Fruit Loops and bagpiper Mike Reynolds. A silent auction will offer gift baskets, collectible dolls and gifts.

Admission to the gala is a requested $20 donation in advance or $25 at the door.

Weekend exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sat., Dec. 2 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sun., Dec. 3. Donations requested are $5 for adults and $1 for children.

A children's corner will provide crafts and other activities for children, and the Welsh Choir of Southern California will appear at 3 and 4 p.m. on Saturday. The St. Paschal Baylon Adult Choir will perform at noon on Sunday.

"No Room at the Inn" has displayed nativity scenes for 14 years at a different church each year to raise funds to help the homeless shelter programs of Ventura County.
