Ice rink party helps schools

Every aspiring Hans Brinker or Michelle Kwan who skates across the Wells Fargo "Ice Rink at the Lakes" on Mon., Nov. 13 will be helping Conejo's schools.

The Conejo Schools Foundation invites the community to "skate in" the holiday season at its Ice Rink Preview Party on the frozen pond at The Lakes in Thousand Oaks, adjacent to city hall.

Sponsored this year by Wells Fargo Bank, the ice rink will open for its season preview at 4 p.m., with skating sessions continuing at 5:30, 7 and 8:30 p.m.

All proceeds from admission and skate rentals during the Nov. 13 preview party will go directly to the nonprofit foundation, which provides support for schools and students in Conejo Valley Unified School District.
