Defense of Bush
In response to Sherry Jensen's Sept. 28 and Oct. 26 letters in the T.O. Acorn: Ms. Jensen, your leters are such great examples of what's wrong with political discourse in this country.
You make unsubstantiated claims and then wonder why the rest of the country doesn't back your unreasonable conclusions.
Had you read Mr. Osborn's clear response to your first letter, you might have thought twice about making the same flagrant charges.
The fact is that we've lost far more rights and liberties every time our state Legislature or our Congress spends our money irresponsibly or anytime a judge writes law from the bench instead of interpret it as they are supposed to. There are several ballot measures specifically to rectify these power abuses.
Secondly, the fact is most wartime presidents suspend some liberties in order to protect our citizens and our great country. This president has done far less of this than previous wartime presidents.
This constitutional representative republic has and will survive and thrive provided we don't allow our enemies to undermine our will and our president by buying into every salacious claim against him. Mike Di Fatta Thousand Oaks
