YOUNG ACHIEVER--Jamie Axelrad, a senior honor student at Thousand Oaks High School, has earned the highest award in Girl Scouts, the Gold Award. It's comparable to Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts. Her numerous activities in Scouting culminated with the more than 60 hours she gave to collect and pack gently used soccer equipment and uniforms from American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) in Thousand Oaks and transporting the items to Mexicali, Mexico, with her church group. The soccer accessories will be used by Mexican children. Jamie is the daughter of Wendy and David Axelrad.
