Wilson has helped the city As a local business owner and an active member of the Thousand Oaks community for the last four years, I've been fortunate to have known Bob Wilson since moving here in November 2002. Bob has been a great supporter and advocate for the youth in the community as well as the local business people. Early in his last term on the council, Bob was instrumental in working with the city and newly formed Boys & Girls Clubs of Conejo/Las Virgenes to provide key funding to make the facilities a reality in our community. The local club is currently serving over 500 children in two clubs with another under construction. In addition to his and most of the council's help to secure city funds, Bob and his family have been consistently generous by supporting several Boys & Girls Clubs events and many charities over the years through donations, sponsorships and catering from their Cisco's restaurant. As a local business owner for over 35 years and past council member, Bob understands what's necessary to both maintain and improve the great city we enjoy in Thousand Okas. As a past council member and mayor, Bob's slow-growth platform has allowed the city to make great additions, including improvements to the Auto Mall and bringing in Nordstrom to revitalize The Oaks mall. Not only (will) these great amenities (be) available for us all to use and enjoy, but they (will) bring key tax revenue that allows Thousand Oaks to maintain the nationally recognized "safest city" award and so many awardwinning schools for our kids. Additionally, due to Bob's past support while serving our city, all local high schools have stateoftheart sports facilities to encourage athletics an bring an even stronger sense of community to our town. In preparation to the Nov. 7 voting, please take time to review the past voting record of Bob Wilson and the other candidates, proof of Bob's commitment to keeping Thousand Oaks a great place to live and a benchmark of what can be expected of him in his next term.
