Wilson deserves another term on the council

2006-10-26 / Letters

I'm writing to encourage the residents of Thousand Oaks to reelect Bob Wilson for Thousand Oaks City Council. I have known Bob and Linda for 26 years and have had a wonderful time growing up with the Wilson family.

I feel very fortunate to have Bob, his wife, Linda, their children and grandchildren in my life.

Eight months ago, I moved back to Conejo Valley from Newport Beach to pursue a new career. Bob and Linda were kind enough to take me in for five months while I found my new place of residence. I looked forward to coming home to the Wilson house each night because there was always great conversation and a warm, home-cooked meal waiting for me.

Bob, Linda and the entire Wilson family are some of the most generous people that I've ever known. They are extremely giving and kind to their friends and family and also to Conejo Valley. Bob and Linda have been heavily involved in charitable work here for 30-plus years.

Bob is a director of the Thousand Oaks Police Charitable Foundation. Bob was the former director of the Conejo Valley Boy Scouts for 2005 and 2006, and was also made an honorary deputy sheriff of Ventura County by Sheriff Bob Brooks, the department's highest award for civilians.

Linda Wilson was the past president of the American Heart Association, is a Rotarian and has also been Rotarian of the Year.

Bob and Linda owned Cisco's Mexican restaurant in Westlake Village since 1971 and worked very hard to provide rewarding jobs, great food and memorable times to the community. Bob, Linda and their son, Bob Jr., are also owners of Cisco's Mexican restaurant in Thousand Oaks and as a team work very hard to do their best for the surrounding community.

As you can see, Bob and Linda have been very active supporters in their community and continue to be two people who truly care about Conejo Valley. If you hope to have a councilman who truly cares about the city and its residents, vote for Bob Wilson on Nov. 7. Bob was an effective, responsible and caring councilman from 2002-04 and mayor in 2004. He's eager to serve the city of Thousand Oaks. Jessica Bittner Westlake Village
