Short cares about children, deserves your vote
I have been a manager for Thousand Oaks Little League for over 25 years and have managed two World Series Championship Teams and was a coach on another. The biggest champion for the youth of our community is John Short.
John and I have been friends for over 10 years. He has been the president of Thousand Oaks Little League for the past four years and on the board of directors for the past nine years. John is a true leader, both on and off the field. At the helm of Thousand Oaks Little League, he has provided sound financial advice to the board, listened to the parents and provided a positive working environment for the board of directors and the coaches.
He works closely with the city and the Recreation and Park District to provide an outstanding venue for children to participate in quality youth sports program.
Countless hours are contributed by John both on and off the field to ensure that each and every child has the most positive experience. Being a successful leader of a league with over 700 families, 65 coaches, and 20 board members takes a special type of person. John is committed to success and is driven by the pursuit of excellence.
He has a passion and conviction to provide a quality program to the children, parents and the community as a whole. His continued support of the Big League program was instrumental in the success of the World Series Championship Title, which was received on Aug. 5.
Please join me in voting for a true "champion for our youth," John Short, for school board on Nov. 7. Ed Kitchen, Manager 2006 Thousand Oaks Big League
