Motorists should slow down and take a chill pill

As I was navigating the increasingly traffic-loaded streets of Thousand Oaks a few days ago, I glanced into the rearview mirror and noticed an SUV behind me. Right behind me.

As I looked into the face of the driver, there was no indication that she was hurried, impatient or otherwise pressured with time.

We stayed together as we traveled down Lynn Road into a left turn lane and onto a new street. As I prepared to turn right with plenty of turn signal going, she roared past me. Accompanying this roar was a very long, very loud horn honk. Taken completely by surprise, I had to pull over and stopped a bit, being shocked and frightened.

And then really angry.

Is Thousand Oaks becoming like Los Angeles and the Valley? A vehicular complex of selfish, ego-driven on-the-road savages?

If this is the trend, please take me to a smaller, kinder city. Penny Puente Thousand Oaks
