Masry a solid choice for City Council

Given the tenor of the last two candidate forums for Thousand Oaks City Council and recently published letters, one can see that this race is shaping up to be a real cage match. The opponents are the ideas that each candidate holds dear.

In one corner we have special interests and a mentality that urban-style development is what's good for the city. This idea is deceivingly proffered as a means to raise the tax base from which the city budget is funded.

In the other corner, we have a legacy of slowgrowth and a determination to keep our city out of the hands of greedy developers.

It's not hard to see who represents these ideas. Just look who is being funded by the developers. I couldn't believe my eyes when I read how much money Mr. Fox has cavalierly accepted from this group.

Developers care not how their profiteering impacts the traffic and overall quality of life in our city. Nor do they care how their plans will affect our property values.

I plan to do the right thing in this race. My vote is going to Louis Masry, who represents my interests as a resident and citizen of this great city. Dan DiNardo Newbury Park
