Fox keeps city going in the right direction

My family moved to Thousand Oaks nine years ago. We saw this community as a wonderful place to raise our children. We have never looked back and continue to feel blessed to be part of this great town. The people are great, the schools are great- heck, everything's great.

Besides being a father and husband, I am a small business owner, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce's "Teacher of the Month" program, a graduate of the "Leadership Conejo" program and an appointee of the city's Business Roundtable.

This city's growth has been of great interest to me. My family is pleased with the current status of Thousand Oaks, as are most of the residents I speak with.

I believe a large part of the success of this town is because of Andy Fox.

While reviewing the qualifications of the nine candidates for Thousand Oaks City Council, it is clear that one stands far above the rest of the good people wanting to serve. There are many reasons Andy Fox has never lost an election; he works hard and listens to his constituents.

Andy has deep roots in Thousand Oaks, he's been here 25 years, his parents even longer. His education and work experiences have been essential in defining his leadership skills.

His professional experience includes rising through the ranks of the Los Angeles Fire Department to become its highest ranking civil servant.

His public service includes providing the very best leadership in the areas we citizens deem important: public safety, protection of our open spaces and adherence to our General Plan.

Many of our earlier leaders have endorsed Andy over the years. Andy clearly has become one of the most effective leaders in the county.

Andy runs a true grassroots campaign with many small contributions from retirees, homemakers and small business owners. His signs are the ones you see in people's yards. His volunteers are the ones who knock on our neighbor's doors after work and on weekends to explain why he's the best candidate.

No one earns this job or accomplishes more for us every single day than Councilman Andy Fox. In my opinion, he's one of the reasons I will never look back.

Voting is a privilege and I encourage everyone to get out and cast your vote. It is one of the great things about living in America. And when you vote, I respectfully encourage you to vote for Andy Fox. Phillip A. Koonce Thousand Oaks
