Publisher signs T.O. author to publish Celebrity Almanac

Ed Lewis, creator and author of the Celebrity Almanac, announced that he has signed a nationwide contract with Americana Group Publishing in River Falls, Wis. to print and distribute the Celebrity Almanac.

Lewis is the vice president of development for the Alliance for the Arts in Thousand Oaks, and has been working on the book for approximately 10 years.

TV personality Ed McMahon has provided the special introduction for the book, and he, along with several hundred other celebrities, are featured in the almanac's profile section, which contains personal information and trivia.

When Lewis was executive vice president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce in the mid1980s, he created the marketing and licensing of the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the Hollywood sign. This experience of recruiting more than 300 celebrities who had stars on Hollywood Boulevard to participate in the marketing program to refurbish and restore the Walk of Fame was the genesis for creating the Celebrity Almanac several years later.

More than 350 celebrities signed and returned data forms for the book, and many also included their photos and autographs as well. The celebrities featured in the almanac range from TV and movie personalities to major league and Olympic athletes. There are also recording stars, business executives and political figures.
