Home sales plummet

September sales of Conejo Valley single-family homes totaled 114, down from 173 sold in August and 167 a year ago, according to Glen Scalise, president of the Conejo Valley Association of Realtors.

Median sales price for single-family homes in September was $823,530; in 2005 it was $851,744. The median price is the point where half of the units sold for more and half for less.

Total sales for all real estate transactions in September were $151.9 million. For September last year, the total was $213.3 million.

New residential listings totaled 300 in September 2006, compared to 318 in August and 256 in September 2005.
