Fox a voice for public safety

2006-10-05 / Letters

I'm writiing in support of Andy Fox. I believe our city is for- tunate to have the leadership of Councilman Fox.

Thousand Oaks is viewed by many as the safest city in the na- tion and it has been for many years. That's important to me. One of the reasons for this is that Mr. Fox has consistently priori- tized the budgeting of whatever the police and fire department need to take care of our paramedic, fire and law enforcement requirements.

As deputy fire chief for the Los Angeles Fire Department, Fox has the knowledge and experience that our city needs to make sure we never fall behind in these areas. I can look out my window, as I am writing this, and see the ash from the Day fire in the sky, and that brings home the realization that protection of our property and loved ones is not something we want to leave to the inexperienced.

I understand that Fox is the fa- ther of four and an active volun- teer in many community activities including youth sports and his church's men's club. He is a strong supporter of the arts in our com- munity and that is important to me as well. He lives a very busy life yet he still has a passion for public service as our City Council mem- ber at virtually no pay.

Thousand Oaks is a terrific city due in no small part to the years Andy Fox has served us on the planning commission, as mayor and as a City Council member.

Fox serves the needs of T.O and I urge all who feel as I do to vote for him on Election Day. Richard Williams Newbury Park
