A letter to the editor in last week's edition from Mervyn Kopp of Thousand Oaks said that Louis Masry failed in an attempt to run for City Council in Moorpark and was "soundly rejected." Masry never ran for the Moorpark City Council.

Gates will open at 5 p.m., not 6 p.m. Sat., Oct. 7 for the high school marching band competition in Lancer Stadium at Thousand Oaks High School. Bands from Newbury Park, Westlake and TOHS, among others, will compete.
