Bush gives us wars without end

Regarding last week's letter "Why isn't Congress talking about impeachment," thank you, Ms. Jensen, for speaking up about the Bush administration.

Like you, I can no longer keep my mouth shut. I drive around do- ing my daily chores and marvel at all the "W" stickers I see on cars. Who are these people?

How could they vote for a man who manufactured evidence to justify a preemptive war on a sovereign nation, who thumbed his nose at the U.N., who threat- ened to "bomb Pakistan into the Stone Age" if its leaders didn't cooperate with us, who condones torture and feels he is above the Geneva Conventions, who be- lieves, much like Machiavelli, that the end justifies the means. He who seeks to conceal and dis- tort the facts of global warming in order to defend his own spe- cial interests, who turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to the cries of his own citizens, destitute and stranded after Hurricane Katrina, who has single-handedly created the greatest national debt and tar- nished the formerly good name of the United States of America the world over?

I'm restless every day, wait- ing to hear the new death totals in Iraq, knowing full well our sol- diers are not coming home, no, they, like the Iraqis-and perhaps the Iranians and Syrians next- are the unfortunate victims of the war without end. If these are not grounds for impeachment, I don't know what are. Cathryn Tagliani Croall Thousand Oaks
