Bonsai exhibit coming to Gardens of the World

The Conejo Valley Bonsai Society will hold its fourth an- nual Bonsai Exhibition and Demonstration from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat. and Sun., Oct. 14 and 15 at Gardens of the World, 2001 Thousand Oaks Blvd. in Thousand Oaks.

The exhibition will be at the resource center in the Gardens and will display the work of members of the society.

The demonstrations will be in the band stand. Members will transform a nursery tree into the beginnings of a bonsai. Tech- niques for examining the raw tree and determining which branches or limbs to keep or re- move and the new shape to which it will be trained by wir- ing and trimming will be ex- plained. Demonstrations will take place twice each day, at 11 a.m. and at 2 p.m.

Bonsai Society members will be on hand to share information on their activities and on creat- ing living works of art. The pub- lic is welcome.
