Local soccer team takes European vacation
     WHAT A TRIP-APEX Adrenaline, the girls' U-17 team of APEX Soccer Club based in Thousand Oaks, won the Plate Division of the Umbro International Cup in Manchester, England on July 29. Adrenaline lost only once in seven games en route to the final. The Umbro International Cup is Britain's largest soccer tournament, drawing more than 450 teams from 20 nations. As part of the tournament, the team toured Manchester United's Old Trafford Stadium and received a coaching session at the official training facility of Premier League Manchester City. Adrenaline is comprised of girls from the Conejo Valley who attend Newbury Park, Agoura, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Oaks Christian, Oak Park and Chaminade high schools. Pictured are Kayla Hazard, Rachael D'Angelo, Tammy Donovan, Kylie Bamberger, Brittany Levoy, Megan Kraft, Bethany Reed, Molly Mejia, Alexis Stanger, Kate Bierschenk, Hilary Lesiak, Eva Hickok, Cory Welsh, Sarah Kelly and Sammie Lane. The team was coached by John Daykin, Anne Knutzen and Alison Holtby.

     Daniel Heald won a onehole playoff against Ryan Riggs to capture the l8-hole Westlake Golf Club championship for boys ages 14-17.

     After three years away from the game, James Park started to miss coaching volleyball. This year, Park will take over a team whose level of play in 2005 didn't seem to be missing a thing.
