Sisterhood offers Bible studies for women
The Yahweh Sisterhood, the women's ministries of Ascension Lutheran Church, will host a series of Bible studies for women to study Scripture, learn theology and connect with other women. The church is at 1600 E. Hillcrest Drive, Thousand Oaks.
"The Patriarchs" is a series of videos with Bible study leader Beth Moore about the major characters of the book of Genesis-
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The course will meet twice a week, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in Founders Hall at the church beginning Mon., Sept. 11 and from 7:30 to 9 p.m. in the church library starting Thurs., Sept. 14. The morning session will include brunch and the evening program will feature light refreshments.
A monthly study group will use lessons from the Lutheran
Woman Today magazine. This year's theme is "Hope in God in Times of Suffering." The first session, with a Paris café theme and special coffees, will be in Founder's Hall at the church at 9:30 a.m. Sat., Sept. 16. Subsequent meetings will be at members' homes.
The programs are open to the public. For more information, call Treva Bohning at (805) 494-3651.
