Due to misinterpretation of a press release from the police department, it was incorrectly reported that a stolen Mercedes sedan or other loot was discovered on Aug. 21 at the Avenida de Las Flores home of an 18year-old suspect.

The subject does not live there and the car and items were found at other locations.

In the Aug. 17 edition, a letter writer asked how much open space had been lost in Thousand Oaks. The writer was referring to a photograph that showed T.O. Mayor Dennis Gillette with a map depicting parcels that will never be developed. According to Tex Ward, who was director of Conejo Recreation & Park District for 38 years, much more land has been preserved as open space than had ever been envisioned.
