Predators continue to hunt down competition
WINNERS IN PARADISE-Chalk up another championship for the Pacific Coast Predators. The U-18 Gold girls' fast-pitch softball team and their families traveled to Kauai, Hawaii, for the Kauai Fantasy Softball Tournament held last month. The team also won the softball fashion show as stated in the headlines of The Garden Island, the newspaper of Kauai. Games were played in Wiamea, where the dirt is red, and to keep from ruining their black and gold uniforms, the girls opted to wear hot pink socks with black shorts and California T-shirts, completing the ensemble with a pink headband. The Predators have won three tournaments so far this year, including the Tourney by the Sea U-18 Gold in Ventura, the Artesia Punishers Summer Slam Tournament and the Kauai Fantasy Softball Tournament. In June, the team traveled to Denver for the Colorado Sparkler Tournament, finishing in 12th place out of 194 teams in the Platinum Bracket.
