Amgen workers help family build 'Habitat'

Amgen employees, working in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Ventura Countyhave assisted in building a home to shelter a local family.

A new home for the De La Cruz family was recently dedicated at 685 E. Channel Islands Blvd. in Oxnard. Family members helped to build their new home along with Habitat construction volunteers.

The De La Cruz family includes parents Roberto and Martha and their four children.

The house is the second that Amgen and the Amgen Foundation have helped to provide locally and the 38th Habitat house in Ventura County.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating poverty housing and helping families into affordable shelter.
