Ventura County Democrats to host Labor Day picnic

The Democratic Party of Ventura County will host its annual Labor Day picnic from noon to 3:30 p.m. Mon., Sept. 4 at Freedom Park in Camarillo, adjacent to the Camarillo Airport.

The menu will include tri tip, chicken barbecue with all the fixings, a vegetarian option and drinks.

The theme is "Bye-bye, Arnold." Hannah Beth Jackson, president of Speak Out California and former member of the California Assembly, will be master of ceremonies.

The nine chartered Democratic Clubs in Ventura County will have booths. Activities include a children's jumper, horse

shoe games for adults, a 50/50 raffle, and music by Susan and Dave Cohen.

All the state Democratic candidates have been invited to attend and guests will have the opportunity to meet them.

The cost is $20 per person or $35 for two. Tickets for seniors age 62 and up are $15 per person or $25 for two. Youth ages 7 to 12 are $7 and children under 7 are free.

Advance reservations are requested. Reduced prices for two people will be available only through Fri., Sept. 1.
