Telethon needs more volunteers
The Muscular Dystrophy Association's 2006 Jerry Lewis Labor Day Telethon will be broadcast live on KCAL 9 in L.A. on Sun. and Mon., Sept. 3 and 4. The local show airs from 6 p.m. Sunday to 6 p.m. Monday.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is currently seeking telethon volunteers from civic and community service organizations. Volunteers are still needed for the mailroom and to answer phones and take pledges on live TV.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to answer the phones. Required skills include a friendly personality and a desire to help.
