Assembly candidate to meet voters

Friends of Ferial Masry, Democratic candidate for California's 37th Assembly District, will host a meet and greet reception on Sat., Aug. 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the home of Gerda and Arnold Fadden, 1428 Suffolk Ave., Thousand Oaks.

The seat is now held by Audra Strickland (R-Thousand Oaks).

Guests can meet and discuss issues with Masry, whom the late Peter Jennings called "a candidate for all the right reasons" when Masry was selected by ABC News as the Person of the Week.

A high school teacher of American government, Ferial tells her students, "This is the

only country in the world where government is alive and you can be part of it and change it."

Residents of the district, which includes Conejo Valley, Moorpark, Simi Valley and parts of San Fernando Valley, are invited to attend.
