Enjoy summer events at Goebel Senior Center
Goebel Senior Adult Center will host a variety of programs in upcoming weeks. The center is at 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks. It offers many classes, sports and exercise activities, discussion groups and much more.

From 4 to 6 p.m. Tues., Aug. 15, a b a r b e c u e open to all ages will be presented on the center's back patio. The menu i n c l u d e s cheeseburgers or hot dogs plus chips and soda for $5 per person. Second helpings are free of charge.
From 10 to 11 a.m. Thurs., Aug. 17, Patty Hume of Assisted Home Health Care will present a seminar titled "Ups and Downs of Falling: Why, How and When to Use Your Cane, Crutches, Walker, Wheelchair, etc." Reservations are required for this event.
From 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wed., Aug. 23, Chrissy O'Grady and Joe Martin's Reptile Family will present a free program for all ages. Guests will meet reptiles, amphibians and arachnids. Reservations are also required for this event.
Looking ahead to September, the center will host a Labor Day Breakfast from 9:30 to 11 a.m. M o n . , Sept. 4. It is open to adults ages 50 and up. The cost is $2. In addition to breakfast, there will be entertainment. Tickets are available beginning Mon., Aug. 14. The event is a combined presentation by McDonald's, Conejo Recreation and Park District, and the Goebel Senior Center Commission.
