UPDATE ON THE CITY-Mayor Dennis Gillette gives members of the Thousand Oaks Kiwanis Club the latest news about the city. Thousand Oaks, he said, has acquired a substantial amount of open space. The city map, center, shows darkened areas that will never be developed. Gillette addressed the service group during a breakfast meeting at the Plug Nickel restaurant last week.
