Apply now for city endowments

The application period for the city of Thousand Oaks Community Events Endowment Fund will open Aug. 1 and continue through Sept. 29.

The city council awards financial help to eligible applicants for arts/cultural, sporting and community activities that benefit city residents. The eligible activities must take place between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2007.

Applicants are urged to review the grant criteria and guidelines available on the city's website at www.toaks.org.

Application packets are available at the following locations:

+Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza/City Hall (city manager's office or city clerk's office), 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. +Grant Brimhall/Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road. +Newbury Park Branch Library, 2331 Borchard Road, Newbury Park.

All applications must be postmarked or received no later than 5 p.m. Fri., Sept. 29 to the attention of Jana Covell of the city manager's office at the address above.
