Conejo Valley Neighborhood for Learning is offering Lamaze childbirth preparation classes at the Crowley House, 2522 Pleasant Way, Thousand Oaks.

The first series will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Aug. 16 to Sept. 20. The next series will also be offered 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 4 to Nov. 8.

Brenda Hunter, who serves as the agency's executive director, teaches the classes. She's certified by the American Society of Prophylactic Obstetrics as a childbirth educator.

"The more informed you are, the more empowered you become," Hunter said. "Use the power of prepared childbirth to have a positive labor experience."
