Charity tennis camp benefits YMCA

A charity tennis camp for adults and children will be offered from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sat., Aug. 5 at Sunset Hills Country Club, 4155 Erbes Road, Thousand Oaks. One hundred percent of the donations will go directly to the Southeast Ventura County YMCA (Conejo Valley, Triunfo and Simi Valley Family YMCAs).

From 1:30 to 3 p.m., campers will participate in drills and instruction. From 3 to 4:30 p.m., campers will play in matches. Swimming is scheduled from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Campers can stay for as little or as long as they like. A $15 per hour donation is suggested.

"The day will give campers a cardio workout, valuable instruction and stimulating match play," said Karen Shin, one of the camp instructors. "It's a great way to burn calories for a worthy cause."
