Westlake Church of Religious Science plans special programs Westlake Church of Religious Science presents the following services and special programs this month. The church is at 880 Hampshire Road, Suites V and W, Westlake Village. Further information is available at www.westlakecrs.org. Sunday services are as from 9:30 to 9:50 a.m., a prayerful "Time for Transformation" and at 10 a.m., "Celebration of Life" with Dr. Sue Rubin and the Rev. Jim Lockard. The July theme of sermons is "The Royal Road to Freedom." The topic on July 16 is "The Power of Choice." On July 23 it is "Finding a Favorable Wind" with Mary Manin Morrissey as guest speaker. On July 30 the topic is "Self-Love and Mastery." From 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sat., July 15, Lockard presents "How to Develop a Meditation Practice." This class will teach the technique of meditation and how to incorporate this practice into one's life on a regular and consistent basis. Cost to participants is $30. At 7 p.m. Thurs., July 20 is a "Spiritual Cinema Night" with the film "Touching Wild Horses" starring Jane Seymour that is described as "an epic adventure and ode to the healing power of nature." A $7 donation is requested. At 1 p.m. Sun., July 23, Morrissey will present "The Four Shamanic Canons," a workshop that the church describes as an exploration of "the Four Universal Practices that become portals to the power of your Soul." The cost is $20 advance purchase or $25 at the door. |
