Learn proper care of roses

The Ventura County Rose Society will hear about natural pest control for gardens when Ron Whitehurst, marketing manager of Rincon-Vitova Insectaries, is the guest speaker at their 7 p.m. meeting on Thurs., June 22 at the Cowan Conference Center, 550 Airport

Way, Camarillo. A "little rose show" will open the event. A lending library featuring books and videos will be available and refreshments will be provided.

Whitehurst will discuss simple ways to enhance biological control in your rose garden and landscape. His firm specializes in beneficial insects and organisms designed by nature to control pests. Whitehurst will show slides of the good bugs and help attendees identify and discuss the bug pests that plague their gardens.
