Workshop series to benefit children, families
Scott Coady, the founder and executive director of the Institute for Embodied Wisdom, with the assistance of Dr. Shana Berger, will host four evening workshops, "Power and Peace," from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays, June 14 to July 19, at the Bodysattva Healing Arts Center, Thousand Oaks.
According to Coady and Berger, the workshops are designed to help individuals create more exciting and fulfilling futures by strengthening their capacity to produce more powerful results while experiencing more peace as they continue to lead full and busy lives.
A donation of $25 is requested for each session, or $75 for the complete series.
All donations will go directly to Interface Children Family Services.
Call (805) 497-0300 to register, or to learn how to sponsor others for the program through Interface.
Coady is a leadership development specialist and master somatic coach who works directly with leaders at NASA, Cargill, Capital One and other Fortune 500 companies.
"It has been my dream to create a forum for the development of human potential in both professional and personal capacities, and this workshop is a chance to share the work we are doing at the Institute," Coady said. "We chose to donate the fees to Interface because they provide counseling, shelter and other services for families in crisis."
Berger, sponsor of the workshop series, is the director and
founder of the Bodysattva Healing Arts Center and Studio. She's also a master somatic coach and certified professional coach.
She uses touch, breath, movement and refocusing attention to guide her clients toward new ways of responding to life's pressures and opportunities.
Interface representative Christa Clippinger, who works with domestic violence and shelter programs, said, "We are delighted at the donation of funds, and it is particularly gratifying that they are being raised though workshops that tie-in so closely with our mission 'to strengthen children, families and communities to be safe, healthy and thriving.'"
