Women to sell hot dogs to help sheriff's department
A group of a dozen local women are sponsoring a "Dogs 4 Dogs" hot dog lunch on Sat., June 17 a the Janss Mall Carwash on Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks.
The purpose of the benefit is to defray the $17,000 cost to replace one K-9 unit for the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. Members of the women's
group will provide a lunch of hot dogs, chips and soda as carwash patrons wait for their vehicles. The cost of lunch is $2.
About 10 a.m. the K-9 officers and their four-legged partners will be on hand to greet the public. They will also bring coffee mugs and a variety of Tshirts to sell in time for Father's Day gifts.
