Famed mind reader to display his talents in Thousand Oaks
Marc Salem Marc Salem, a renowned mentalist known for taking his audience on a captivating excursion into the possibilities of the human mind, will bring his Broadway performance "Mind Games" to Thousand Oaks.
His performance is presented by Chabad of the Conejo and the Friendship Circle as part of Chabad's annual gala banquet on Wed., June 14.
The Chabad gala will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza located at 2100 E. Salem will entertain at 7:45 p.m.
Salem has been a student of the mind for more than 30 years. As an academic he holds advanced degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and New York University and has been on faculty of several major universities for close to two decades. Salem is considered one of the world's foremost authorities on non-verbal communication.
The event marks Salem's only Los Angeles-area performance this year. In his shows, Salem seems to read audience members' minds, but he does not use hidden cameras or "plants" in the audience, and offers $100,000 to anyone who can prove he's being helped.
Salem uses psychological techniques, visual information, a sharp eye for human nature and years of training-all of which enable him to peer inside the human brain.
