Giving blood
     LA REINA HELPS- Kirsten Dansey, a senior at La Reina High School in Thousand Oaks, is ready to donate blood. According to Mary Anne Hedrick, assistant principal for student activities, 25 units of blood were collected by United Blood Services during a recent collection drive at the campus. Several agencies, including the Red Cross, have called for blood donations because supplies are low.

Proud moment for Eagle Scout
     HONOREE-In a ceremony at United Methodist Church on Janss Road in T.O., Ian Lynch of Troop No. 716 is promoted to Eagle Scout. Ian, a student at Thousand Oaks High School, renovated a storage facility at the church for his Eagle project. At TOHS, Ian's been a member of the water polo and dive teams. He's shown here getting a commendation from Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks.
