Chabad to celebrate Ten Commandments
     The Shavuot holiday celebrates the giving of the Ten Commandments and the Torah (Bible) to the Jewish nation 3,318 years ago. Members of the Jewish community are invited to the "Conejo Mt. Sinai Experience" tomorrow, Fri., June 2, at the Chabad Centers. All ages are welcome.

Church to honor high school grads
     High school seniors will be recognized and scholarships awarded on Pentecost Sunday, June 4 at United Methodist Church of Westlake Village, 1049 Westlake Blvd. Brian Long, director of youth ministry, will give the message at the 8, 9 and 10:30 a.m. services.

     Brian Ginell was called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah at Temple Etz Chaim on April 22. He is a seventh-grade student at Redwood Middle School and his parents are Gail and Cary Ginell of Thousand Oaks.

Lutheran church offers Bible school
     Residents are invited to send their children to Vacation Bible School from 9 a.m. to noon, June 9 to 23 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, at the corner of Camino Dos Rios and Lynn Road in Thousand Oaks. The school is for children in kindergarten through sixth grade.
