Moorpark College students graduate

Moorpark College recently graduated 32 new nurses in the Associate Degree Nursing Program at the campus Performing Arts Center. The graduates will be eligible to take the Registered Nursing examination.

The ceremony included recognition of the Moorpark College Nursing Association officers as well as awards for participants in the Volunteers 4 You! and American Red Cross.

Professor Frank Bianchino was the guest speaker.

The traditional pinning ceremony included recitation of the nurse's pledge and a candlelighting, symbolizing the profession's beginning with Florence Nightingale going into the battlefield with a lantern.

The graduates include the following local residents:

Agoura Hills: Jeryl Anderson

Newbury Park: Jennifer Benton, Mara Seal and Gurparaveen Shergill

Thousand Oaks: Kristin Burns, Ioana Caranica and Vanessa Marsden

Westlake Village: Diane Clark and Sara Edington
