The Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Regional Chamber of Commerce will host on Fri., June 9 the fourth annual Spirit of Community Awards Celebration will be presented by Amgen and the Thousand Oaks-Westlake Village Community Foundation from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, 880 S. Westlake Blvd., Westlake Village.

Local teachers, firefighters, police officers and a special community volunteer will be honored for their dedication and service to their communities.

The public is invited to attend the celebration, which includes a dessert reception and program.

Admission is $25.

Throughout the school year teachers are recognized from the Las Virgenes and the Conejo Valley Unified School Districts.All of these teachers will be applauded in addition to the special announcement of the Teacher of the Year award recipient from each district.

The Community Foundation will present an award for the Community Volunteer of the Year, as well as express appreciation for members of the military serving overseas.

The chamber and guests will also honor law enforcement individuals from the Thousand Oaks Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu/Lost Hills Station.

The women and men in Los Angeles County Fire Station 144 and the Fire Department of Ventura County will be recognized for their protection of property and life.
