Borchard Park to host concert

Newbury Park's Fireside Concerts, a nonprofit venue, will present a concert at 8 p.m. Fri., June 9 at Borchard Community Center, 190 N. Reino Road, Newbury Park. Four distinctive acts will share the bill.

Folk artist Stan Cadranel will perform on five-string banjo and guitar. The ladies' barbershop quartet called "Shimmer," which recently won the Sweet Adeline Western Regional competition, will follow.

Singer/songwriter/performer Terry Bailey and the high-energy bluegrass band Whiskey Chimp will round out the evening's bill.
