Thousand Oaks resident Jeff Jordan has joined the University Advancement team at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. As a major gift officer, his duties will include working with individual donors, corporations and organizations to build stronger relationships and partnerships with the university.

A former vice president of western region sales for Verizon, Jordan served as a member of the university's board of regents from 1998 to 2000. A native Californian, Jordan served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam from 1967 to 1971.

Following his return from military service, he graduated from Illinois State University in 1975 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He began working for GTE which ultimately became Verizon.

"My goal is to help CLU achieve its long-term objectives to build the endowment and new facilities while also helping the university strengthen its partnerships within the community," said Jordan.
