Red Cross official leaving for Fort Worth, Texas
American Red Cross of Ventura County CEO Jason Smith, who's served in this capacity since June 2001, will leave his post in mid-May to lead the nation's 26th-largest chapter in and around Fort Worth, Texas.
"Jason has been an outstanding leader and has helped the Red Cross in our community to reach new heights," said Bob Nunn, chairman of the board of American Red Cross of Ventura County. "He's built an amazing team of paid and volunteer lead
ers who've seen us through incredible challenges. Jason's vision and leadership will be missed."
Smith is expected to serve until May 15. The Chisolm Trail Chapter in the Fort Worth area serves 1.8 million people.
"I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had to make a difference in Ventura County and I'm very proud of the team of which I've been a part. I will miss Ventura County and this Red Cross chapter very much," Smith said.
