Improv classes offered at Ventura's Livery Theatre

The Livery Theatre, home to Ventura TheatreSports, offers classes in comedy improvisation for youth, teens and adults. The first class is free, and subsequent classes are $10 per session. The theater is at 34 N. Palm. St., Ventura. For additional information or registration details, call (805) 643-5701. Classes are offered on an ongoing basis. Comedy improv classes for

ages 18 and up are offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays or from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturdays. Scene work, games and musical improvisation will be covered.

An open improv workshop for ages 15 to 25 is offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. Participants will learn basic comedy improv skill development and will have opportunities to perform in local improv events. Co-presented by Straight Up Ventura County and Ventura TheatreSports.

Ventura TheatreSports is offered at the theater Fridays and

Saturdays at 8 p.m. ($7.50 to $8.50 admission) pitting teams against one another in scenes, games, music and comedy with

special theme nights including "Last Improviser Standing," "Spontaneous Broadway" and Mother's and Father's Day shows.
